Sintered Cutting Tools Diamond Saw Blade
The Types Sintered Saw Blades?
There are usually three types according to the way they are made. Wholly sintered diamond saw blades, silver brazed diamond saw blades and laser welded diamond saw blades.
Wholly sintered diamond blade consists of the process of placing only the steel core with the diamond and metal binding material into a mold and then sintering it in a sintering furnace equipment. As a result, the diameter of a Wholly sintered diamond blade is not very large, usually no more than 400 mm (16 in). These types of diamond saw blades will exhibit low cutting efficiency due to their high load and high strength cutting process.
Silver brazed diamond saw modules have their diamond segments brazed to the steel cores using silver solders, hence the name. These blades are only for wet cutting, that's why. If used for dry chip, the silver brazed diamond saw blade may melt.
The laser-welded diamond saw blade can cut many types of gemstones without water cooling. However, if abrasive or very hard materials must be cut, a laser-welded diamond saw blade with sufficient water is required.
